PBA: Alas cancels 2 days off to deal with his "immature" team

Head coach Louie Alas is borderline irate as his Phoenix team continues to be immature.
BINAN, LAGUNA --- Phoenix is way past that point where it can settle for moral victories.
A consistent threat to the playoffs but never really considered as a contender, the Fuel Masters feel like they should already be taking that next step forward as a team.
Accepting moral victories are not part of that.
That's why head coach Louie Alas is borderline irate at his team's continued immaturity. Phoenix allowed themselves to fall down early again Friday against NLEX at the Alonte Sports Arena here.
And while the the Fuel Masters nearly engineered another comeback similar to what they did to Magnolia, Phoenix ultimately ended up losing.
It's because they're still immature.
"Kanina talaga problema namin immaturity pa rin including my veterans," Alas said.
"There is no more moral victory ngayon. Kailangan yung winnable na game kailangan manalo. Hindi pwede yung okay lang na lumaban kami. Sabi ko gusto niyo ba every game maga-away tayo?" he added.
As a punishment and a way to deal with their problems, Alas says he's cancelling what was supposed to be a two-day off for the Fuel Masters.
At 2-2, Phoenix is determined to fix its problems early or else, the team will just continue to be that team that was never quite a contender.
"Sabi ko I'm supposed to give you two days off, pero di ko gagawin kasi you don't deserve to have two days off," Alas said.
"Sabi ko on Sunday, mauubos practice time natin to view the breakdowns. Kasi sigurado ako small things lang tumalo samin eh. Ano pwede mo ikatwiran sakin, di ba immaturity? Lack of concentration. Matalo na tayo sa game plan ko, di yung matatalo tayo dahil di natin nagawa yung gusto natin gawin. Sad to say para akong nagaalaga ng mga bata," he added.
