Vernon Macklin will play his last game for the Hotshots Friday against Meralco as the returning PBA reinforcement got a guaranteed deal to suit up in China.
Local sports agent Sheryl Reyes confirmed the development via social media late Monday night.
Vernon MAcklin unfortunately will play his last game this 5/18.. he was given a guaranteed contract with the NBL China that he can’t pass up on,we would like to thank Boss AL, Mr.Pardo for understanding our situation and allowing him to go,he is sad but needs this for his future— Sheryl Sanchez Reyes (@FemaleAgentSR) May 14, 2018
Macklin only saw action in two games for Magnolia in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup, scoring 25 points in a last-second loss to Phoenix before finishing with 19 in a win against Globalport.
This is Macklin's second stint in the PBA, he first saw action for Ginebra five years ago, leading the Gin Kings all the way to the Commissioner's Cup Finals.
