Move to China is set but Macklin's focus is with Magnolia
Macklin is set to play for the NBL right after he finishes his second stint in the PBA. His last game for the Hotshots will be on Friday against Meralco.

Even if he only has one more game for Magnolia, Vernon Macklin is going all out to ensure that the Hotshots will be in good position once he finally leaves for China.

Macklin is set to play for the NBL right after he finishes his second stint in the PBA. His last game for the Hotshots will be on Friday against Meralco.

That's still two days away so for now, Macklin's focus is getting a win against the Bolts and not his impending transfer to China.

"To me, every game is important," he said Wednesday after Magnolia's rousing win over Columbian.

"From start to finish, I take every game like it's important. I just wanna go out there and try to sustain what I do every single game. So every game's important to me," he added.

While the move to the NBL was the better opportunity to address what he needs right now, Macklin is definitely sad to leave the Hotshots.

So in order to pay Magnolia back, he wants to make sure the Hotshots are walking away with a win while he's still in town.

He can deal about China once he gets there.

"It's a bittersweet situation," Macklin said.

"I came here with these guys to start the season and I wanted to finish the season with these guys.  But I got somebody to take care of, and I got to do some things for my family. But I'll still gonna come out here and play hard. It dont matter if its the first game or if it is the last game. I'm definitely gonna play hard for my team, for the Hotshots, and for myself," he added.

This is Macklin's second season in the PBA. In his initial stint, he played for Brgy. Ginebra and led the team all the way to the 2013 Commissioner's Cup Finals.
