This one was over rather quickly.

Magnolia made sure to stamp its class early on Columbian, dominating right from the opening period to score a big 126-101 victory in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup Wednesday at the Big Dome.

Playing their penultimate game with import Vernon Macklin, who's set to play in China on a guaranteed deal, the Hotshots wasted no time against the overmatched Dyip, opening a 37-18 lead after the first 12 minutes.

Magnolia ended up leading by as many as 38, cruising to its second straight win in the mid-season joust.

"Pinahusapan namin na we have to respect this Columbian team dahil maganda tinatakbo nila," head coach Chito Victolero said.

"It's a battle of our defense against their offense, buti na lang maganda mindset ng mga bata right from the start," he added.

With Macklin leading the charge, Magnolia got off to a fast start and never looked back.

Macklin scored all of his 19 points in the first half as the Hotshots built a 72-43 lead.

The locals then took over in the second half, stretching that lead up to 38 late in the game, 111-73.

After Macklin, five Magnolia locals scored in double figures led by Ian Sangalang with 18 points. Paul Lee and Mark Barroca dropped 17 apiece while Aldrech Ramos added 12.

For the Dyip, who dropped to an even 3-3, Jon Fields was the high man with 22 points but he only shot 38 percent from the field.
