Terrence Romeo puts the "extra" in extra work.
TNT had a game scheduled at 4:30 p.m. at the Big Dome Friday.
Teams playing in that schedule usually have a call time of around 2 or 2:30 in the afternoon.
Terrence Romeo was already at the arena doing shooting drills at 12:40 p.m.
Head coach Nash Racela told this writer about that fact pre-game and Romeo later confirmed it following TNT's convincing 120-101 win over Blackwater in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup.
"Oo, nage-extra shooting na ako kasi gusto ko talaga makatulong sa team eh," Romeo said.
Coming off a long down time following injury, Friday's outing was only Romeo's seventh game this season. He says he's just trying to catch up.
"Gusto ko maganda laruin ko. Lagi naman akong ganoon [early at the venue]. Basta maaga yung game namin. Laging ganun," Terrence added.
Romeo's extra work was paying off early against the Elite.
He finished with 12 points in 15 minutes of play. All 12 points came in the first half.
Unfortunately, Romeo's night was cut short after tweaking his left ankle while stepping on the foot of Renz Palma late in the second quarter.
"Sayang," Romeo said.
"Medyo nakuha ko na yung first half ko eh, papuntang third nakuha ko na kasi bigla ako na-injury. Sayang," he added.
