PBA: Belga to Arana: ‘Ang galing mong tumulong’

For old time's sake, Beau Belga and Rain or Shine got an assist from Ryan Arana who now plays for Globalport
Beau Belga, as he is wont to do, was right in the middle of a scuffle in the final frame of the matchup between Rain or Shine and Globalport on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
Only this time, at the end of it all, Elasto Painter big man Belga was not ruled to have done anything wrong.
Four players incurred technical fouls and Belga wasn’t one of them.
In fact, it was another player who had nothing to do with the play in question who got a technical foul for his troubles – Ryan Arana.
Right after a loose ball play involving Belga and Sean Anthony, the former was left on the floor right in front of the Batang Pier bench.
And while several people were trying to break up the scuffle, Globalport guard Arana approached Belga and the former proceeded to dab his towel on the face of the latter. Asked about it post-game, the latter answered to reporters, “It’s just part of being teammates for a long time. Ryan is a playful teammate and sabi lang naman niya sa akin, ‘Relax ka lang.’”
He then continued, “Pinupunasan pa nga niya pawis ko e.”
Indeed, according to Arana, what he did was just a show of love to his former teammate.
League rules didn’t see it as such, however, and the Batang Pier veteran was slapped with a technical foul for entering the playing court.
For all that he did, which ultimately helped out the Elasto Painters, Belga was nothing but thankful. “Pagtapos, sabi ko sa kanya, ‘Ang galing mong tumulong, nag-technical ka pa. Nagpunas ka lang ng pawis, na-technical ka pa.’ Ayun, tawa-tawa lang siya,” he shared.
