James White will do his best to be back at full strength when Phoenix returns to action two weeks from now
Phoenix won its first game with Eugene Phelps back as its reinforcement.
The American had 25 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals to spur the Fuel Masters past Ginebra on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.
This, just a day after he officially replaced James White who was placed on the injured reserve.
According to Gerry Ramos of spin.ph, Phelps has been in Manila for two weeks and has been practicing with Phoenix for a week.
As of right now, though, it’s still unknown who between the two imports will be suiting up for the Fuel Masters when they return to action two weeks from now against defending champion San Miguel.
What’s certain is that White, suffering through a foot injury, will only continue to get back at full health and then get ready. “Right now, I’m just recovering. I gotta stay ready for whenever my name is called,” he told reporters post-game.
He then continued, “Hopefully, God willing, I’ll be healed soon. I feel great, I feel blessed, I feel thankful.”
