El Destructor is taking over.

Phoenix is choosing to activate import Eugene Phelps for its mega matchup against Ginebra Sunday in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, putting James White in the injured list.

The development was first reported by PBA Press Corps president Gerry Ramos of Spin.ph on Saturday.

This will be Phelps' third year with the Fuel Masters and fourth conference overall. El Destructor first played for the team in the 2016 Governors' Cup, resulting in a playoff birth for Phoenix.

Phelps returned for one game in the 2017 Commissioner's Cup, leading Phoenix to a double-overtime win over Blackwater. His third conference was last season's Governors' Cup although his stint was cut short by injury.

He's slated to play for Phoenix again in the season-ending conference but with White on the mend, the Fuel Masters are rolling with their old reliable.

It's unclear as of press time what injury White is dealing with. His production took a dip in Phoenix's last two games but head coach Louie Alas assured him last week that he's his import for the Commissioner's Cup.

Phelps arrived a couple of weeks back and has been practicing with Phoenix already.
