Chris Tiu spitting out blood has to be the most horrifying thing caught on live TV in the current PBA season.
Sunday in the 2018 Commissioner's Cup in a game featuring Rain or Shine and Globalport, Tiu got an elbow to the face from Batang Pier import Malcolm White.
During a rebound play in the fourth quarter, White's momentum caused the nasty head shot and Tiu was down on the floor for quite some time.
Before he fully got up, he spit out a good amount of blood on the floor.
Fortunately after that gruesome scene, Tiu as able to walk back to the bench on his own.
"Buhay pa. Malayo naman sa bituka eh," Tiu said with a laugh in the post-game interview with scribes.
"I'm just happy na hindi natanggal ngipin ko or nabasag ilong ko. It's more of the gum, I have to get it stitched up right after this," he added.
Following the hit, Tiu admitted that he blacked out for a little bit.
He also mentioned that that was the hardest hit he took in his whole basketball career. It's like he got hit by a certain fighting senator he added.
Rain or Shine got the win in the end so it's all good.
"It's been the worst, the hardest hit I've ever gotten in my basketball career. I lost consciousness maybe two seconds ano, parang nasapak ako ni Pacquiao," Tiu said.
"The first thing I checked was my tooth if it was still there. I just told coach I'll be okay. I'm glad I was able to help the team come out with a victory," he added.
