The Elite forward however assured fans he is fine, but just decided not to aggravate his ankle.
In a game which is organized every year to bring out the best and entertain the crowd, only fun is expected. And usually, injuries are never part of it.
Smart All-Star Allein Maliksi however, suffered a real injury scare when he fell down favoring his foot in the first half and went limping to the bench.
Luckily, what seemed was a frightening injury instead was just an ankle tweak.
However, the already seven-man rotation got a bit shorter as Maliksi didn't play the rest of the way.
Still, the Smart All-Star selection was able to carve out a 152-149 win, courtesy of a record 48 points from Terrence Romeo.
Maliksi assured fans he is fine, but just decided not to come back so as not to re-aggravate his ankle.
Even their coach for the game, NLEX's Yeng Guiao echoed Maliksi's sentiments.
"Na-sprain siya but I don’t think it’s serious sprain, siguro ayaw na lang niyang ilaro dahil baka ma-aggravate pa," the former national team coach said.
"Tinanong ko siya kung gusto niyang maglaro, ang sabi niya gusto niyang ilaro pero may pain. Sabi ko kung may pain huwag na lang." Guiao added.
