PBA: Romeo's Visayas All-Stars dismantle Gilas Pilipinas
Romeo went on a tear once again, leading the Visayas All-Stars to a 157-141 win over Gilas Pilipinas Sunday at the University of San Carlos Gym in Iloilo City as the mid-season festivities ended on a high note.

Terrence Romeo has owned the last two legs of the 2018 PBA All-Star Games.

Romeo went on a tear once again, leading the Visayas All-Stars to a 157-141 win over Gilas Pilipinas Sunday at the University of San Carlos Gym in Iloilo City as the mid-season festivities ended on a high note.

Two days after scoring an All-Star record of 48 points, Terrence added another 27, powering his All-Star crew over the national team.

The PBA All-Stars went 2-1 over Gilas this year following a winless campaign in 2017. Gilas won two games last year and then settled for a draw against Mindanao.

Visayas slowly pulled away from Gilas in the middle quarters, eventually opening up a 20-point lead.

And much like the first leg against Mindanao, the national team simply had no answer for a plethora of guards almost scoring at will from the PBA All-Stars.

Jeff Chan actually led Visayas in scoring, firing 29 points as he took care of the late garbage time baskets. Romeo had 27 while TNT teammate Jericho Cruz finished with 20 points.

James Yap and Ronald Tubid contributed 17 and 15 points respectively.

For Gilas, who once again had a short, 9-man rotation, it was Calvin Abueva that did the heavy lifting.

The Beast had a monster 41-point, 27-rebound outing but it wasn't enought for the win. Matthew Wright came away with 28 points.

The Scores:

VISAYAS 157 - Chan 29, Romeo 27, Cruz 20, Yap 17, Tubid 15, Fajardo 14, Slaughter 11, Ross 8, Quinahan 7, Monfort 5, Taulava 4.

SMART 141 - Abueva 41, Wright 28, Aguilar 20, Pogoy 15, Rosario 13, Belo 12, Castro 8, Norwood 2, Jalalon 2.

Quarters: 33-36; 80-73; 115-103; 157-141.
