With a 0-7 record, the Elite are virtually out of the playoff picture for the mid-season conference.
Only divine intervention can salvage the Commissioner's Cup campaign of the Blackwater Elite, says import Billy Walker.
With a 0-7 record, the Elite are virtually out of the playoff picture for the mid-season conference. Thus, the expansion team is now looking at the bigger picture for the Governors' Cup, with lots of time to spare for the team.
"This conference? We need a miracle. But we are gearing up for the Governors Cup. We're getting our defense together, our chemistry," the former Boston Celtic said after the game.
After the game, the veteran import was seen talking to Poy Erram after his outburst against the Elite coaching staff for getting "lack of touches," according to an update provided by courtside reporter Apple David.
Walker said that he was merely soothing his teammate's flaring emotions, wherein the former Blue Eagle was benched for his actions before being sent back to the court in crunch time.
"Yeah. Listen man, I see so much of myself in Poy -- his demeanor and his passion. I had to tell him like, 'Man, I've been there!' It's my fourth time here, you got to focus on what's between the lines. If he does that, he's going to be a different player. We need him to be focused because he is the anchor of our team."
As for the close loss against the backcourt-depleted NLEX Road Warriors, Walker had to say this about his team's effort in the 93-89 loss.
"I just think that we are not coming around. I just think that they got to better believe in themselves on what they can do because they've actually seen it during the process."
"If we had only made another three or a layup, who knows? But it's a good sign that we competed today."
