PBA: Standhardinger finally knows that winning feeling again
"I'm just happy that we got the win to be honest with you," Standardinger said Wednesday after San Miguel's victory over Phoenix.

For the first time since March, Christian Standhardinger finally won a basketball game.

It couldn't have come in a better time.

Defending champion San Miguel Beer stumbled out of the gate in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, losing three straight.

Now that the champs finally got the W for a 1-3 mark, things are about to go down according the Standhardinger, who just picked up his first PBA win as well.

"I'm just happy that we got the win to be honest with you," Standardinger said Wednesday after San Miguel's victory over Phoenix.

"I hope we're gonna keep going. If we play defense like we did in the second half, then I think we can win a lot of games," he added.

While Standhardinger is happy he got that first win off his list, there's still a lot to work on he says.

For one, the top overall pick of the 2017 Draft is not fully adjusted to the PBA just yet.

But the more he plays here, the better.

"I have not adjusted yet, to be honest with you. But I just gotta keep moving, keep being better, and keep hitting the weights," Standhardinger said who finished with 18 points for the Beermen.

"Today, that was a very tough team again, and I think they're just gonna keep getting tougher, the opponents and be more physical, and that's why I have to adjust. But I think it's the best preparation," he added.
