Hodge on Cone spat: I just told him to get off the court
"Well, he got on the court and I just told him to get off the court," Hodge said after the Bolts got the win.

Meralco vs. Ginebra is a major rivalry game now.

Friday in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup was no different.

Contesting a non-call for a goaltending violation in the third quarter, Ginebra head coach Tim Cone stormed to the court in a fit of rage.

Things got a little bit messy as he bumped into Meralco forward Cliff Hodge. The two had to be separated but not before trading heated words towards each other.

Cone was later called for a technical foul.

Explaining his side, Hodge says he just told Cone, a 20-time PBA champion coach with two Grand Slams, to get off.

"Well, he got on the court and I just told him to get off the court," Hodge said after the Bolts got the win.

"That's pretty much it. I think he's mad about one of the calls or something like that, and then I was like hey he's not supposed to be on the court so I told him to get off. Then he got mad because I told him that," he added.

Hodge brushed off the incident as being part of the heated game.

But he did admit that he was also trying to get into coach Tim's head.

Safe to say, he kinda did.

"It's part of the game, I know he was kinda frustrated so I was just trying to get under his skin also," Hodge said.

Asked if he will talk to Cone about the incident, Hodge said probably not.

He's ready to move on to the next one. Cliff is pretty sure coach Tim already moved on too.

"I mean if he wants to talk to me, he can. But honestly, it's just part of the game," he said.

"I think he's probably thinking the same thing, no one takes it personally after the game is over. We'll see," Hodge added.
