PBA: NLEX still looking for a flicker of hope in Comm's Cup
NLEX, of course is playing without their promising backcourt of Kevin Alas (ACL tear) and Kiefer Ravena (18-month suspension by FIBA).

Following a 117-106 loss to the TNT KaTropa, NLEX coach Yeng Guiao could only wish for a 'flicker of hope' that could save their Commissioner's Cup campaign as they dropped to a 2-5 record.

The Road Warriors even led 80-79 in the third quarter, before their sister team unleashed a 10-1 run that put them ahead for good.

NLEX, of course is playing without their promising backcourt of Kevin Alas (ACL tear) and Kiefer Ravena (18-month suspension by FIBA).

"Maybe deep in our hearts parang may ano pa rin slim chance, some flicker of hope that's still there. That's why it still feels frustrating, we still feel angry not being able to close it out very because last 4-5 minutes we still had a chance to win."

Coping with the loss of their backcourt, the team could do nothing but adjust to the perilous situation given to them by fate, and if they want to compete for a playoff spot, they would have to take down the three-headed monster of the San Miguel Corporation to have a chance.

"We're 2 and 5. Four games left. You need to win all four to be assured of a slot. but you still have to play San Miguel, you still have to play Ginebra, you still have to play Magnolia. Those are really strong teams."

For a situation that needs a lot of composure to come by, the team's expectation's have not faded nor sunk, as NLEX, Guiao says needs to find a way in order to get over the psychological hump.

"If you look at the situation parang medyo mahirap na, but we're not losing hope. The reason why were frustrated and angry is exactly our expectations are still high. We have to find a way to psychologically move forward without those guys."
