Iím still just awaiting the doctorís clearance that I can start playing and practicing with the team -- Norbert Torres
Rain or Shine big man Norbert Torres is slowly recovering from the lacerations on his left arm he suffered during a stabbing incident outside a bar last June 3.
Torres was optimistic that he’ll be able to return to practice after two weeks.
The Elasto Painter together with former De La Salle teammates Jeron Teng of Alaska and Thomas Torres got involved in a scuffle that resulted with the three sustaining stab wounds.
“Still recovering, of course, it’s only been six days,” said Torres Friday after Rain or Shines’ 104-94 win over Blackwater in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday at the Big Dome.
“I’m still just awaiting the doctor’s clearance that I can start playing and practicing with the team. Just happy that we got the win today,” added Torres, who had his left arm heavily bandaged.
The cager hopes to be back in action after at least two weeks.
“They said around 14 days before I can continue to play again,” he said.
Torres will need to wait a couple of more days before having the stitches on his arm removed.
“No, hindi pa. the stitches, another five days I think, according to the doctors. So we’re still waiting on that,” he said.
For now, Torres is busy with the case they filed against two suspects.
“I’m still going to practices to show my support still. I was talking to Jeron, Thomas and meeting up with the lawyers as well,” said Torres, who refrained from talking further about their legal action saying, “Well, with regarding that, I have to talk to my attorney, our attorney.”
