June Mar Fajardo already mentioned how hard it is for him to guard TNT import Joshua Smith.
Back in the Finals of the 2017 Commissioner's Cup, the PBA's Most Valuable Player had trouble against the hulking Smith.
A year later, not much has changed.
June Mar is still having trouble.
"Laki niya, bigat niya. Ang galing," Fajardo said of Smith after the Beermen took a hard-fought 99-94 win over TNT Saturday.
"Naawa nga ako sa sarili ko eh," he added with a laugh.
Smith and June Mar were battling practically all game long.
Fajardo logged 43 minutes while Joshua played for 45. June Mar scored 19 points and Smith responded with 26.
For all of his trouble though, Fajardo is relieved the Beermen got a crucial win.
A loss would have been disastrous for the defending champions who are already struggling with a .500 record after beating the KaTropa.
"Mahirap, di naman siya madali kalaban kasi ang laki niya. Galing niya pumasa pag nasa ilalim kasi ang lapad niya eh, buti nakuha namin yung panalo," June Mar said.
"Kailangan namin yung panalo para may chance kami makapasok. At least nasa gitna kami," he added.
