His scoring average in the conference has also been tremendous at 24.2 points per game, coupled with 6.3 rebounds for the 7-2 Alaska Aces.

The 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup has been a personal scoring showcase for Vic Manuel.

In the mid-season tournament, the Muscle Man has scored 20 points in eight straight games, including a career-high 35 points against the Magnolia Hotshots.

The eight-game 20 point streak is also the longest scoring output for a local since Terrence Romeo scored 20 points in nine straight games during the 2016 Philippine Cup.

His scoring average in the conference has also been tremendous at 24.2 points per game, coupled with 6.3 rebounds for the 7-2 Alaska Aces.

Despite all that, Manuel is not targeting the Best Player of the Conference award, and instead is looking at the bigger picture for one of the better teams this time around.

"Basta goal namin makapasok kami sa playoffs. Makapunta kaming semis. Or pa sinwerte kami, makabalik kami sa Finals. Yun yung goal namin eh," the hulking forward said after the game.

Manuel, who scored 22 in their loss against Meralco earlier, was a bright spot for the Aces, who were held to a season-low 74 points, contrary to their 105.7 point per game average.

He added that he enjoyed the game despite former Best Import Arinze Onuaku already taking the defensive designation.

The Meralco defense, the best in the league, had also taken a toll to the Alaska offense, and was praised by the big man.

"Oo nga. Yun nga, parang off-night talaga kami kanina eh. Bad execution tapos ang dami pang turnovers. Saka ang galing dumipensa ng Meralco. Sobrang aggressive nila sa depensa... Di naman laging swerte sa laro."
