The Gin Kings have won back-to-back and are revived with a 3-5 record after blasting Magnolia Sunday in Manila Clasico.
Brgy. Ginebra's NSD spirit is starting to come back.
Halfway through the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, the Gin Kings were stuck with a woeful 1-5 record.
Ginebra was basically walking on thin ice after it dropped its heavyweight clash against defending champion San Miguel Beer.
Since then, the Gin Kings have won back-to-back and are revived with a 3-5 record after blasting Magnolia Sunday in Manila Clasico.
It was a huge win for sure for the barangay.
"Well, basically every game for us is a knockout game starting NLEX game so we treat every game now as do or die game," guard LA Tenorio said.
"Nasa ilalim kami ng team standings eh. We started really flat this conference so ayun naghahabol kami. It’s abig win for us against Magnolia. But again, we have to turn it around against Colummbian Dyip. We cannot afford to relax for the remaining games this elimination. So, one game at a time. One game at a time kami," he added.
Head coach Tim Cone said that the Magnolia win was Ginebra's best game this conference.
Tenorio agrees but that was just a product of the Gin Kings finally getting healthy and complete as a team.
"Ngayon, medyo nakukuha na namin," he said.
"Actually, nakumpleto lang kami NLEX game ata o San Miguel game. Ngayon lang talaga kami nakumpleto 100% so itong game na ito sana magsilbing aral sa amin na we can win if we play together and execute defensively and offensively," Tenorio added.
