In an all-too familiar scene, Globalport big man Kelly Nabong found himself getting ejected late in the third round of their 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup contest against Phoenix, Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Batang Pier went on to suffer a 27-point defeat, 135-108 at the hands of Phoenix.
And while it was quite a physical affair that saw tempers flare and calls get questioned, Nabong is owning up to his mistake.
After having already been booked for a technical foul earlier in the game, Nabong was called for a Flagrant One on Jason Perkins as he was boxing out after a Mo Tautuaa free throw.
The F1 resulted in Nabong’s early exit from the contest.
“I just thought down low, they were doing a little bit of dirty elbows underneath,” Nabong told the media after the game.
This isn’t the first time that Nabong was ejected this conference.
Just last month, in a tense contest against Rain Or Shine, Nabong was also ejected after getting into it with Maverick Ahanmisi.
Back in March, during the Philippine Cup, also against Phoenix, Nabong got into a heated arguement with Fuel Masters head coach Louie Alas which also earned him an ejection.
This time around, there wasn’t much hostility surrounding the call, and Nabong owned up to his disqualifying error and whatever comes with it.
“I’m not here to blame anybody but myself. They caught me coming down with my elbow, that’s my fault, I accept all the repurcussions.”
