PBA: Hotshots demolish NLEX to near playoff spot
With Wayne Chism on board, Magnolia rolled to its fifth win in 10 games as they near a playoff spot in the mid-season joust.

Maybe fourth time's the charm for Magnolia?

Playing with their fourth import of the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup, the Hotshots got perhaps their best win of the tournament, a 116-89 demolition of also-ran NLEX Wednesday at the MOA Arena.

With Wayne Chism on board, Magnolia rolled to its fifth win in 10 games as they near a playoff spot in the mid-season joust.

Chism is Magnolia's fourth import after Vernon Macklin, Justin Jackson, and Curtis Kelly.

Taking on the pesky Road Warriors, Magnolia waxed hot in the fourth to put the game out of reach. The Hotshots fired a 31-12 run in the final 12 minutes to hand NLEX its worst loss under head coach Yeng Guiao.

Chism led the way with 27 points while Paul Lee added 21 for Magnolia. Four other players finished in double figures for the Hotshots.

NLEX will end the Commissioner's Cup with a 2-9 mark.

Import Oluseyi Ashaolu, who will return in the Governors' Cup, led the Road Warriors with 31 points in his first PBA game.
