PBA: Masked Smith says bring on the San Miguel teams

"We can't look at it and say 'Oh we're playing the San Miguel teams,' last year we played them in the semis and the Finals so whoever we play it doesn't matter." -- Joshua Smith.
In TNT's win over Meralco last June 22, Joshua Smith took an elbow to the face from Bolts import Arinze Onuaku.
Smith's night ended early with that hit after his nose got bloodied. Turns out he actually broke his nose.
The hulking import showed up on Saturday against Rain or Shine sporting a protective mask. Smith says he has to wear it for protection until pretty much the end of the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
"I have no choice. I have no pain but I fractured the right side of my nose, the bridge in four places," Smith said.
"I just gotta wear the mask as long as I can. 6-8 weeks until my nose heals. I'll be with it the rest of the playoffs. After 6-8 weeks I'll be okay," he added.
The mask didn't seem to be a problem for Smith as he played 32 minutes against ROS and scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Smith led the KaTropa to the win and the no. 3 seed. TNT is set to face one San Miguel team in the playoffs starting next week.
The towering import is not worried.
"We feel confident no matter who we play. When you get to the playoffs all the teams are good," he said.
"We can't look at it and say 'Oh we're playing the San Miguel teams,' last year we played them in the semis and the Finals so whoever we play it doesn't matter," Smith added.
