It's TNT-SMB and Ginebra-Meralco in the playoffs. Buckle up.
The 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs will be interesting.
Like really, really interesting.
To kick off the quarterfinals, there will be a gigantic rematch from the 2017 Finals featuring defending champion San Miguel Beer and bitter rival TNT KaTropa.
Told you it's interesting.
The champs continue their title defense Monday against the no. 3 KaTropa, looking to extend their current mastery over the boys from TNT.
San Miguel not only beat TNT for the championship last year but the Beermen also eliminated the KaTropa from the Philippine Cup playoffs in back-to-back seasons now.
Safe to say San Miguel has dominated this rivalry as of late.
The Beermen, despite beating TNT in the elimination round, are the lower seed though as their 6-5 mark is only good for 6th place.
The KaTropa are third with an impressive 8-3 record and TNT is fresh from issuing a 15-point beatdown to no. 1 Rain or Shine just last Saturday.
This best-of-3 quarterfinals between the iconic rivals will tip off with Game 1 Monday at the Big Dome. Jump ball will be at 4:30 p.m.
In the second game, another pair of rivals square off as no. 4 Meralco take on no. 5 Ginebra.
Of course, these two teams met in the last two Governors' Cup Finals with the Gin Kings winning both times. There's actual bad blood between Meralco and Ginebra and expect this best-of-3 joust to be explosive as well.
Tip off will be at 7:00 p.m.
