PBA and Gilas Pilipinas player Terrence Romeo and his group reportedly figured in a fight at a Quezon City bar early Thursday morning.
A fan allegedly wanted a picture with Romeo, who also played a part in the on-court brawl between the Philippines and Australia last week during the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers, before the altercation took place.
According to Clarissa Cabrera, the fan's wife, they approached Romeo for a picture, and were about to go home until the fracas began outside a bar in Tomas Morato.
"Una po, nakapagpa-picture na kami kina Terrence. Pangalawa po, pauwi na kami, nagpapaalam na po kami para magpa-picture ulit. Nagulat na lang po kami may bigla pong sumapak hanggang sa nagkagulo na po," Cabrera said in an interview with DZMM.
Romeo, for his part, said to check the CCTV footage from inside the bar.
Cabrera was able to take a cellphone video of the fight, and was then shown to Romeo, only for the basketball player to deny any knowledge of the suspect's identity.
According to an article by ABS-CBN News, the two groups were able to talk, and have not filed any complaints as of press time.
