Brgy. Ginebra is up 1-0 in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals against San Miguel Beer, landing a vicious haymaker Friday in Game 1.

Well, nobody sure saw that coming.

The win continues the Gin Kings' hot streak. Ginebra finished the elimination round with five straight wins and swept Meralco in the quarterfinals, 2-0.

Ginebra then took down no. 1 Rain or Shine in the semifinals, 3-1. Counting Game 1, that's 11 wins in the last 12 games for the barangay.

Sizzling hot.

Sizzling hot as well are the numbers in Game 1. So before Game 2 Sunday, let's take a quick look back, shall we?

42

Total points for Ginebra import Justin Brownlee in Game 1.

Let's put Brownlee's incredible performance here for just a second. This is JB's second 40-point performance in three games. The previous one, in Game 3 of the semis against ROS, he outscored the entire Elasto Painters in the first half, 25-23, on his way to 44 points.

Against the Beermen, Brownlee scored 29 points in the first half, 18 in the sensational opening period where Ginebra landed an uppercut to San Miguel by way of a 35-20 run.

Brownlee is in the zone and it could mean another title for the barangay in two weeks.

89.5 percent

Justin Brownlee's field goal percentage in Game 1.

In an insane shooting performance, Brownlee shot 17-for-19 from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 from distance. He also made all three of his free throws.

Human fire emoji.

61 percent

Total team shooting performance for the Gin Kings.

It's kinda hard to lose any game if you shoot 61 percent from the field.

39 percent

In contrast, it's kinda hard to win any game if you shoot 39 percent from the field.

San Miguel went 39-for-100 in Game 1 and the series opener is definitely a game the champs would like to forget moving forward.

39

Largest lead for the barangay in Game 1. It was total domination for the Gin Kings right from the start.

26

Total points for no. 1 pick Christian Standhardinger, a PBA career high.

Sure, most of Standhardinger's poins came basically at garbage time but his performance in his Finals debut is something to watch out for.

It could mean trouble for the Gin Kings if the Beermen can actually unleash the Fil-German forward.
