PBA: There is no love between Ginebra and San Miguel
"We're sister teams but we're not friendly. Honestly, we're not friendly with them at all," Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said of San Miguel.

They might be under the same company and even share the same name pretty much but there is absolutely no love between the San Miguel Beermen and Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel.

The 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals is barely three games in and the latest San Miguel-Ginebra clash is already full of color and tension.

Late in Game 2 Sunday, the Beermen saw two ejections on their end with Arwind Santos and Chris Ross getting tossed just minutes apart. Even before that, were were multiple mini-incidents that highlighted this series' physical and emotional intensity.

The rest of the best-of-7 series should be no different. It will be dramatic, it will be fierce, and it will be intense.

"We're sister teams but we're not friendly. Honestly, we're not friendly with them at all," Ginebra head coach Tim Cone said of San Miguel.

"It certainly got chippy [Game 2], and I think you're gonna see that throughout the whole series," he added.

As two of the most loaded teams in the PBA, it's natural for San Miguel and Ginebra to see each other as rivals.

Doesn't matter if they share the same mother company and pretty much the same name.

"We see them as the mountain to be conquered, and they see us as the threat to their throne, the main threat to their throne," Cone said.

"So there's no love lost between the two teams. We go about it differently, but hopefully we achieve the same high level of results. Right now, their results are higher than ours. But I think you'll continue to see it be chippy. I don't think it's going to be lay down for the other team. I expect it to get chippier," he added.
