"I don't wanna get caught up into that. Of course it's great, but the task at hand is trying to win the championship," --- Justin Brownlee.
Finally, in his fourth PBA conference, Justin Brownlee is Best Import.
Brownlee added the individual award Friday prior to Game 4 of the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.
The all-around dynamo for Brgy. Ginebra beat Renaldo Balkman for the award and it's Brownlee's first Best Import award since coming to the Philippines in 2016.
He previously lost twice to Allen Durham in the Governors' Cup while Charles Rhodes won the award last year in the Commissioner's Cup.
"Man, it's a great accomplishment," Brownlee said of his new Best Import award.
"It's prestige this league [has], and the great imports that have played in this league," he added.
Finally taking the Best Import award is nice but Brownlee has bigger and better things in mind.
He's looking to add to his PBA championship collection. Brownlee already has two and getting a third one is top priority.
Brownlee's Gin Kings are two wins away after Ginebra beat San Miguel in Game 4 to tie the best-of-7 Finals, 2-2.
"It's a great accomplishment for myself," Brownlee said on the Best Import award, which he followed up with 37 points in the Game 4 victory.
He also had 11 rebounds and seven assists.
"But I don't wanna get caught up into that. Of course it's great, but the task at hand is trying to win the championship," he added.
