PBA: June Mar wins 7th BPC and is on his way to 5th MVP
It was June Mar's 7th BPC award, which extends his all-time record over mentor Danny Ildefonso (five BPCs) and Jayson Castro (four BPCs).

If he's not actually there yet then June Mar Fajardo just took another major step towards achieving GOAT status in the PBA.

Fajardo won the PBA Master Sardines best Player of the Conference for the 2018 Commissioner's Cup Friday, beating Alaska's Vic Manuel and Globalport's Stanley Pringle.

It was June Mar's 7th BPC award, which extends his all-time record over mentor Danny Ildefonso (five BPCs) and Jayson Castro (four BPCs).

It also just happened to be Fajardo's second straight BPC this season, right after the 2018 Philippine Cup BPC. Unless something drastic happens for the rest of the year, June Mar pretty much locked up his fifth straight Most Valuable Player award.

Five straight MVPs in the PBA, let alone five MVPs, will be unheard of. At the end of this current season, June Mar should be standing alone on top, ahead of pretty much everyone in terms of individual awards.

But back to this latest BPC real quick, June Mar beat Manuel by the final score of 1,153 to 766. Fajardo beat Manuel across all categories, including total statistical points, 446-404.
