Rivero was with the UP Fighting Maroons as they went on a training camp in Serbia. Ricci was 45 minutes late to practice but made it just in time before the national team actually did court drills.
From the airport straight to practice.
The University of the Philippines' Ricci Rivero just arrived from a two-week training camp in Serbia with the rest of the Fighting Maroons, but the high-flying forward had little time to waste as he headed straight to Rain or Shine-Pilipinas' first Asian Games practice.
Rivero, who endured a 13-hour flight from Serbia to Turkey and finally Manila, came 45 minutes after practice started, but made it just in time before the national team actually did court drills.
Pressed for time, the national team went to work Monday at the Meralco Gym in preparation for the Asiad in Indonesia later this month.
The entire team, led by the core of the Elasto Painters, was present with the exception of San Miguel's Christian Standhardinger.
Standhardinger, who is in the middle of the Commissioner's Cup Finals with the Beermen, likely secured an excuse until the best-of-7 series against Ginebra.
