By beating San Miguel, Greg Slaughter has yet another Finals win over June Mar Fajardo.
Technically, Greg Slaughter already has three championships but the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup is only his second title where he actually played.
And this one has Slaughter extremely happy.
"Oh man, I think this is the best one yet," Slaughter said.
"Right now, I'm on cloud nine. It's kinda surreal at the moment but after such a long conference, starting 1-5, to be here, it's very fulfilling," he added,
By beating San Miguel, Slaughter has yet another Finals win over June Mar Fajardo. Greg's University of Visayas beat June Mar's University of Cebu in the CESAFI Finals, 3-1, nine years ago.
But the star Ginebra center downplayed his personal matchup with the reigning four-time MVP.
It was a team effort by the Gin Kings in order to take down the mighty Beermen says Greg.
"We pulled this off as a team," Slaughter said.
"Everyone stepped up, everyone played their role and we came out here and got it [championship], put all our egos aside, played our roles," he added.
With another title under their belt, Slaughter is looking forward to the Gin Kings establishing their own dynasty to rival the one San Miguel already has.
Ginebra will enter the Governors' Cup as the reigning two-time champions.
"That’s what were working for, we won back-to-back Governor’s Cup and we’re a confident team and we think we should be up there with the rest of them, you know, this is what we play for as championships and we just got this one and we’ll stay humble and working to defend our Governor’s Cup champion next conference," Slaughter said.
