ASIAN GAMES: Guiao on Trollano:
The TNT combo guard missed out on making the Gilas team for the upcoming Asiad as he had to give up his slot for Jordan Clarkson of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Playing in the national team, there are going to be certain sacrifices to be made.

For the 2018 Asian Games, it was Don Trollano who made the sacrifice.

National team head coach Yeng Guiao announced his final lineup Friday after practice at the Meralco Gym and the Fil-Am Clarkson was his final choice to complete the "Gilastopainters."

It was originally Trollano's slot.

"Don Trollano had to sacrifice his slot for Jordan," Guiao said.

"There has to be a slot for Jordan Clarkson just in case he's available," he added of the move.

The Asian Games committee had a meeting Friday afternoon to decide on the eligibility of the players competing in Indonesia next week and that includes Clarkson who is in the Gilas pool.

However, no official update has been made available and so coach Yeng and his team had to take the risk of leaving an open roster spot for the Cleveland Cavalier just in case he makes it through.

After practice, Guiao talked to Trollano one-on-one to inform him of the move that had to be made.

"Sabi ko sa kanya, that slot was his but he needs to make the sacrifice because there's a possibility that Jordan Clarkson might come. It's a possibility," Guiao said.
