PBA: So who's the best team in the PBA now?
Six titles have been at stake since Justin Brownlee first arrived to the scene and the Gin Kings and the Beermen each have three championships to show for.

Since the 2016 Governors' Cup, Ginebra and San Miguel have alternated as PBA Champions.

Six titles have been at stake since Justin Brownlee first arrived to the scene and the Gin Kings and the Beermen each have three championships to show for.

Which begs the question, who's really the best team in the PBA right now?

Ginebra certainly looks like it especially since the Gin Kings just vanquished the mighty Beermen in six games Wednesday to win the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

But for head coach Tim Cone, San Miguel still probably holds the title as the best team in the PBA. His Ginebra squad just took the title for one night.

"For one night at least we are the best team, I guess. For one night," Cone said after his Gin Kings won the Commissioner's Cup following a 93-77 Game 6 win at the MOA Arena.

"Tomorrow, they'll [Beermen] be the best team again," he added.

While Ginebra has ended San Miguel's Grand Slam hopes for a second consecutive season, Cone admits that the rest of the PBA is still trailing the Beermen.

San Miguel has won six titles since 2015 and the Ginebra loss is the Beermen's first Finals loss under head coach Leo Austria. Who knows, maybe this was just an aberration.

"We have to be honest," Cone said.

"They still are the best team out there. We won one championship, but they have won multiple championships. They have won multiple All-Filipinos, so they are the best team," the 21-time champion coach added.
