ANTIPOLO -- With his coaching debut already in the books, new Columbian Dyip head coach Johnedel Cardel has already set his goals up until the end of their Governors' Cup campaign.
Cardel, who lost in a 109-106 squeaker to two-time Finalists Meralco at the Ynares Center Friday, told his team to be always ready just like Game 7.
"Alam naman natin lahat na malalakas lahat ng imports so sabi ko nga sa kanila na every game is a championship game, kailangan evey game we're ready to play, we're ready to play defense."
The former La Salle standout, who is just one month into his new job has already found improvements with his squad since they first met.
Despite blowing a 14-point lead, the team managed to claw back and eventually tie things up at 106 with over a minute left, but they could not get the job done against the two-time runner-ups.
Cardel however was happy of his team's gallant stand against the Bolts.
"So this time sabi ko combine it with the defense siguro makakatsamba kami diba? Like this Meralco team is very strong team syempre finals team to with coach Norman Black syempre idol ko rin yan so happy ako na lumaban team ko."
