"I think we need a championship. It's all about the team right now. I don't have nothing to prove. I've been here for three years so I just focus on the championship," --- Allen Durham.
ANTIPOLO CITY --- In two PBA conferences, Allen Durham has two Best Import awards.
He has nothing to prove in terms of his abilities.
In two PBA conferences, Allen Durham has two Finals appearances for the Meralco Bolts. He also has two Finals defeats.
Safe to say, Durham only has one thing left to do in the PBA and he's making a third trip here in order to do it.
"Personally, I have nothing to prove," Durham said Friday after scoring 26 points on top of 20 rebounds and nine assists to lead the Bolts to their first win of the 2018 Governors' Cup.
"I think we need a championship. It's all about the team right now. I don't have nothing to prove. I've been here for three years so I just focus on the championship," he added.
With rival Justin Brownlee ascending to new heights with his third PBA championship, Durham says he's not worried about it or out for revenge.
He just wants his own title and he wants to win it now. It doesn't matter if it's at the expense of the two-time defending champion Gin Kings.
"I was hungry the first two times. Nothing's changed, I still wanna win the championship. We just gotta be able to finish," Durham said.
"The other side doesn't matter. I just want to make sure that we get there [Finals] and we handle business once we get there," he added.
