PBA: TNT to bring in new import after Glover debacle

Mike Glover was one and done with TNT KaTropa in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.
ANTIPOLO CITY --- TNT's patience is pretty thin in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.
After coming up with only 11 points and 15 rebounds in his KaTropa debut Friday against NLEX, import Mike Glover was nowhere to be found Sunday as TNT faced sister team Meralco.
Turns out the balik import was sent home for failing to meet expectations.
"It was more of playing below expectations. I mean, alam niyo naman, import eh tapos dun sa stats [underwhelming]. And he's been here for two weeks," team manager Virgil Villavicencio said after the KaTropa beat Meralco with an all-local lineup.
Villavicencio likewise revealed that TNT didn't need much time to decide it was time to move on from Glover.
And the move surprisingly worked well as the KaTropa actually won over Meralco, marking the team's second win this season playing with an All-Filipino lineup in an import-laced conference.
TNT beat Blackwater in the Commissioner's Cup as they went without a reinforcement as they waited for Joshua Smith to arrive from a stint in Japan.
"Immediately right after the game [vs. NLEX]," Villavicencio said on the decision to send Glover home.
"We had no choice. Syempre we suffered the consequences, if there'd be any. But then it also helped us because na-realize din nung [locals] na di pwede yun," he added.
The KaTropa will play their next game next Friday and the team has to field an import in order to avoid penalties from the league.
TNT is looking at three choices for their next reinforcement though the names are undisclosed for the moment.
The only thing sure is that they'll be new faces to the PBA.
"We have at least three. Kumbaga whoever comes first," Villavicencio said.
