PBA: New team, same old Beast
Calvin scored 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out five assists, and blocked three shots as his "fresh start" commenced after getting traded from Alaska, the only other PBA team he's known so far in his six-year pro career.

Calvin Abueva is already with his new team, but it's still pretty much the same Beast.

Abueva debuted with Phoenix Wednesday in the 2018 Governors' Cup, picking up a 113-107 win over Columbian.

Calvin scored 12 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, dished out five assists, and blocked three shots as his "fresh start" commenced after getting traded from Alaska, the only other PBA team he's known so far in his six-year pro career.

"Okay naman," Abueva said of his first game back.

"Buti naman. Napakita ko kung ano yung mga dapat kong ipakita. It’s my new team eh. Actually sa akin, gagawin ko yung work ko, gagawin ko yung trabaho ko para maipakita ko kung hanggang saan talaga ako dito," he added.

Abueva came off the bench in his first game for the Fuel Masters but he coudln't care less.

Calvin will be ready when his name is called. The usual stuff.

"Okay lang. Wala namang problema sa akin yun. Alam naman nila coach Louie kung anong dapat nilang gawin. Tsaka di naman ako naghahangad na 1st five o 2nd five ako dyan o something. Basta pag pinasok ka, ready ka," he said.

"Actually ako, it’s a fresh start, new beginning. Gawin ko muna yung trabaho ko bago ko maisip kong ano yung dapat kong gawin sa next level ko," Abueva added.
