No June Mar Fajardo for Gilas Pilipinas, at least for the time being.
The reigning four-time PBA MVP is set to miss two months due to a stress fracture in his right shin according to a report on Tuesday by Spin.ph's Randolph Leongson.
Gilas Pilipinas, coached by Yeng Guiao, will resume its campaign in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers on Sept. 13 with a road game in Iran followed by a closed-door showdown against Qatar in Manila four days later.
The Philippine national team is likely to keep the core of the 2018 Asian Games squad following player suspensions last month due to the unfortunate Gilas-Boomers brawl.
Gilas currently has a 4-2 record in the Asian Qualifiers, with both losses coming to Australia.
