PBA: Aces on Abueva:
"I mean, Calvin’s Calvin. He’s gonna be all over the place, making plays, diving, playing with incredible energy, getting the balls that nobody should get to and making plays in transition and making the basket, hitting threes from time to time," --- Alex Compton on Calvin Abueva.

Despite trading him away to another team and then beating him in their first game against each other, the Aces still have good words about former star forward Calvin Abueva.

Alaska traded Calvin to Phoenix a couple of weeks back and on Wednesday, the Aces beat the Fuel Masters, 108-97, to mark the true fresh start for both parties.

The Aces are keeping it classy following the huge victory.

"Calvin is Calvin," guard Chris Banchero said of his former teammate.

"We knew he was gonna be himself. He's a hell of a player," he added.

Alaska head coach Alex Compton went a step further, describing every game against Phoenix as a family reunion.

A handful of current Fuel Masters, including coaches Louie Alas and Topex Robinson, are former Aces themselves.

Now add Abueva to that list.

"What it feels like to me everytime we play Phoenix, is like a family reunion," Compton said.

"We're gonna go at it, we’re gonna play a game in the backyard and it’s gonna be intense. We’re gonna play hard case that’s what we do. But then, these are people you’ve got long-standing relationships with that you really care about," he added.

But in the end though, facing off with Abueva is an experience in itself.

Calvin is Calvin, after all.

"I mean, Calvin’s Calvin. He’s gonna be all over the place, making plays, diving, playing with incredible energy, getting the balls that nobody should get to and making plays in transition and making the basket, hitting threes from time to time," Compton said.
