With the new FIBA World Cup window coming up, Magnolia looks like it's set to miss Paul Lee even more with the national team set to retain its Asiad core.
No Paul Lee, no problem so far for Magnolia.
The Hotshots are 2-0 in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup despite missing its star guard to Gilas Pilipinas in the Asian Games.
But with the new FIBA World Cup window coming up, Magnolia looks like it's set to miss Lee even more with the national team set to retain its Asiad core.
The Hotshots are ready if Lee will indeed continue with his national team duties.
"Di ko alam kung makakasama na namin si Paul, kasi I think maglalaro pa siya for FIBA," head coach Chito Victolero said.
"We're just ready. Kung ano man yung ginagawa ni Paul for flag and country, naka-suporta naman kami sa kanya," he added.
For now, with Gilas already back in the country, Magnolia is having its star guard rest.
"Kausap namin siya [Lee] last Wednesday. Sabi ko sa kanyan mag-pahinga na lang muna siya," Victolero said after Magnolia beat Northport in the PBA Saturday.
"Para at least maka-recover yung body niya at yung utak niya. Kumbaga, ma-refresh siya," he added.
