PBA: Hotshots crush error-prone Batang Pier
With a balanced scoring effort, Magnolia improved to 2-0 in the standings and dropped the Batang Pier to 0-3.

Magnolia makes it two in a row in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.

The Hotshots pounced on the error-prone NorthPort Batang Pier Saturday at the Big Dome, scoring a 104-87 win in the season-ending joust.

With a balanced scoring effort, Magnolia improved to 2-0 in the standings and dropped the Batang Pier to 0-3.

"It's all about our defense," head coach Chito Victolero said.

"Yun talaga game plan namin, to limit our opponents to under 90 points or below, which is ngayon okay naman, nagawa namin," he added.

Magnolia started to pull away in the third quarter, firing a 10-0 run for a 67-53 lead.

The Hotshots never looked back after that as they ended up leading by as many as 29 in the fourth, 102-73.

Mark Barroca led Magnolia with 20 points while Rome dela Rosa added another 17. Import Romeo Travis was good for 15 points, 22 rebounds, and seven steals.

The Batang Pier got  25 points from import Rashad Woods.
