Fresh from his Asian Games stint, Poy Erram comes up clutch for Blackwater in the PBA Governors' Cup.
Erram didn't wow anyone with his numbers as he scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds Wednesday against San Miguel, but he did come through for his team when they needed him most.
Holding on to a one-point lead late, Erram drilled two clutch free throws to give the Elite a 103-100 spread over the Beermen.
Blackwater would then take the win 19 game seconds later.
"Gusto ko lang talaga manalo. Ayaw ko mapahiya sa team ko eh, pagbalik ko tapos ile-let down ko pa sila," Erram said.
"Gusto ko talaga ma-shoot yung dalawang free throw, luckily pumasok naman," he added.
After a 1-10 record in the Commissioner's Cup, the Elite are now 2-0 in the Governors' Cup, beating TNT and San Miguel to start.
As the PBA heads to a two-week break to give way for Gilas Pilipinas anew, Erram is relieved his team won't have to deal with a losing memory in their mini down time.
"Kailangan talaga manalo eh. Last game namin bago yung break sa FIBA, syempre gusto ko makatulong para maganda yung break namin, hindi na namin iisipin. Pag matalo kami ang dami iisipin di ba," Erram said.
"Ngayon break kami, maganda vibe namin," he added.
