San Miguel Beermen head coach Leo Austria expressed his confidence that his team can bounce back with several factors on the horizon for the team.

Now sitting at a 2-3 record, things are not looking pretty for the Beermen, but the coach said that they've been through worse in the previous conference, as they started the mid-season tournament 0-3 before powering themselves to a solid finish and a Finals appearance.

The team is still without four-time MVP June Mar Fajardo, while veterans Arwind Santos and Alex Cabagnot not 100-percent due to inury, and sickness, respectively. Once the dust has settled, Austria hopes, things could go great for the franchise.

"At 2-3, I told the team na the next few games namin is must-win. But we've been here before dahil last conference, we're down 0-3 and now may panalo na kaming dalawa. I think we have to be positive and I think there is a positive with the showing of our import," the 1985 PBA Rookie of the Year said.

The San Miguel mentor also lamented the team's collapse, wherein they blew a four-point lead in the last minute and was not able to get a quality look in the final possession, where they could have won against the Magnolia Hotshots. Instead, their sister team put on the clamps and was able to escape with a 109-108 victory.

Austria also stressed that the team, the top offense in the league, should now focus on the other side of the floor, who are giving up an average of 111 points in their last four contests.

"I think defense is the main problem. We're not able to sustain the energy of the players who play hard defense. Because in the past few weeks, the team was not healthy because a lot of injuries."

The three-time reigning PBA Coach of the Year also expressed confidence in new import Kevin Murphy, who had an impressive debut of 37 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists.

"It takes time to fully heal and with the kind of game na pinakita ni Kevin, I think it's obvious na siya na yung magpapatuloy. And talagang si Kevin yung import na hinahanap namin."

Is this a sign of greater things to come for the Beermen?
