PBA: Despite big game, Travis deflects credit to Paul Lee

Former Best Import Romeo Travis arguably played his best game of his return stint in the PBA Wednesday.

Against Columbian in the 2018 Governors' Cup, Travis dominated for Magnolia, scoring 32 points on top of 14 rebounds and seven assists.

Travis led the Hotshots to another win and Magnolia gained a share of first place with two-time defending champion Ginebra with identcial 5-1 marks.

Despite the monster performance, Travis deflected credit, saying it's not actually him that's leading Magnolia.

"I don't think I'm leading the charge. I think Paul Lee's our best player. No question.," Travis said.

"With Paul Lee leading the charge, we're doing really well. We missed him when he was gone but now he's back and he's going to be here for a while and I think everybody's starting to settle in into their positions. I think if we keep going the way we're going which is defensively, we'll do well," he added.

While he acknowledges that Lee is Magnolia's undisputed alpha, Travis never forgets to do his job as import as well.

And as an import in the PBA, Travis is expected to be an all-around force. He was certainly that a force in the win against the Dyip.

"I'm just trying to help the team," Travis said.

"Today they needed me to score, last game I didn't score as much. It goes from game to game. Whatever the team needs, whatever coach asks me to do is what I'm going to do," he added.
