PBA: Walker makes it clear, Elite coming for the title
"I'm going for that trophy. It doesn't matter who we play, I'm going for the win. My teammates are confident, they're coming for the win," -- Henry Walker.

STA. ROSA, Laguna --- After the end of another PBA weekend, Blackwater will remain in the top-2 of the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.

Taking down Rain or Shine Sunday, the Elite are now 6-1, very far from their woeful 1-10 performance in the Commissioner's Cup.

While the Blackwater locals have individually stepped up their game to improve their overall standing, all of them point to now resident import Henry Walker as the undisputed team leader and key facilitator to the Elite's ongoing rise.

Now in his third conference with Blackwater, Walker has done more than just inspire the Elite. The former Boston Celtic has helped instill a team culture that includes winning and beyond.

"The more success we have, the more we can help our families. We're taking that aspect. We're a brotherhood," Walker said.

"If the next guy has success and we win, we all get bonuses, we all get success you know? We all get to further our careers and help our families more. It's more than just winning games and basketball, it's about being accountable and helping your brother," he added.

While his off court work is admirable, Walker's on-court performance is equally as impressive.

Known as a super scorer in his previous PBA stints, the veteran reinforcement has learned how to pace and manage himself to help his team better.

Against the Elasto Painters, Walker had himself a nice triple-double, finishing with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 12 assists.

But that doesn't matter to him though. It's the win that counts.

"I'm just glad we won, that's it. Plain and simple. No matter how we gotta get it done, I'm willing to do it. Whether it's taking zero shots and me facilitating, it doesn't matter," Walker said.

"I'm not worried about stats, I'm not worried about awards. Like I told you guys, my goal is simple: I'm coming for that trophy," he added.

With the Elite looking like legit contenders, the team is not content with just the label.

They want a shot at that title.

"I'm going for that trophy. It doesn't matter who we play, I'm going for the win. My teammates are confident, they're coming for the win," Walker said.

"It doesn't matter who we play, when we play. We're hungry," he added.
