PBA: Rejuvenated Northport keeps Meralco struggling
Following six straight losses to start the Governors' Cup, Northport is now at 2-6, keeping its flickering playoff hopes alive.

Don't look now but Northport is making a late push to the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup playoffs.

The rejuvenated Batang Pier scored back-to-back wins for the first time in the season-ending joust, beating Meralco, 99-94, Friday at the MOA Arena.

Following six straight losses to start the Governors' Cup, Northport is now at 2-6, keeping its flickering playoff hopes alive.

Stanley Pringle and Sean Anthony hit a pair of clutch triples in the final minute for the Batang Pier, helping them hold on against the Bolts.

"The players really fought hard for this win," head coach Pido Jarencio said.

"Wala ako masabi sa kanila. Total team effort," he added.

Meanwhile, the Bolts got 37 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists from two-time Best Import Allen Durham.
