PBA: Durham proud of Meralco's effort in win over NLEX
With three games left, the Bolts are focused on just staying alive than trying to make a third straight Finals appearance.

Meralco has made it to two straight PBA Governors' Cup Finals, but a third straight trip to the title round is probably not in the mind of the Bolts right now.

Well for one, Meralco is barely avoiding elimination in the season-ending joust.

The Bolts arrested a six-game slide Sunday by beating NLEX and Meralco currently only has a 2-6 mark. They are out of the playoff picture for the moment.

With three games left, the Bolts are focused on just staying alive than trying to make a third straight Finals appearance.

"We can't really think about playoffs right now," import Allen Durham said.

"We just gotta think about getting better, take one game at a time. When we think too far ahead, that's when mistakes happen, your overlook the team, and everything falls from there," he added.

Durham, the reigning two-time Best Import, was huge in Meralco staying alive Sunday.

He finished with 36 points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists for Meralco. More importantly, Durham's big block on Juanmi Tiongson as time expired preserved Meralco's three-point victory.

"It feels great. Even though we won we still didn't play perfect but I'm proud of our guys, they didn't give up. I think we're down 10 or 9 pts with six minutes, but we just showed relentlessness and we just kept fighting," Durham said.

"That's what happens when you keep fighting for the whole 48 minutes," he added.
