PBA: Back-to-back wins for Meralco after stopping Magnolia
Winners of back-to-back games, the Bolts improved to 3-6 for the conference and Meralco is still pretty much alive in the playoff race where only three spots remain up for grabs.

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal --- Power has been fully restored over at Meralco.

The Bolts took down no. 1 Magnolia Friday at the Ynares Center here, scoring a 94-88 win in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.

Winners of back-to-back games, the Bolts improved to 3-6 for the conference and Meralco is still pretty much alive in the playoff race where only three spots remain up for grabs.

Five players scored in double figures for the Bolts led by two-time Best Import Allen Durham with 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Four other locals chipped in at least points led by 16 from Baser Amer.

It was a tough outing from the start with no team leading by more than eight points. In the end however, the was Meralco's signature defense that allowed them to secure this victory.

For Magnolia, their reign as solo no. 1 ends as the Hotshots drop to 7-2, now tied with two-time champion Brgy. Ginebra for first place. The loss also snapped the Hotshots' five-game winning streak.

Former Best Import Romeo Travis led the way with a 25-point, 19-rebound double-double but local support wasn't abundant in this one. Paul Lee and Ian Sangalang were the only other Hotshots in double digits with 12 points each.
