Rain or Shine big man Beau Belga will not be seeing action in the remainder of the PBA Governors' Cup eliminations as he recovers from plantar faciitis in his left foot.
Belga has been suffering from the painful foot injury for quite some time, and when the time their game against Columbian came rolling by last Friday, he had enough.
The Elasto Painters will be missing his 11.0 points, 5.29 rebounds, and 2.57 assists per game, as the burly big man will be in street clothes while his team fights for their playoff chances against Phoenix on Wednesday, San Miguel on Saturday, and NLEX on Nov. 3.
Belga was bummed on the timing of the injury, especially during a point that they are short of another talented big man as Raymond Almazan, has not been with the team for several weeks now.
"Kung kailan wala si Raymond, kailangan ka ng team, na-injury pa. Pero wala kang magagawa e. Hindi mo inaaasahan yung injury na darating that time so no regret at all."
Despite not being able to play inside the court, head coach Caloy Garcia praised his stretch forward/center for being a vocal leader of the team, motivating his teammates at practice and during their game against Meralco.
"[T]he postiive thing about Beau is he'll go to practice. And the way he talks to the players now, parang positive ['yung effect] eh."
