PBA: Beermen make it three straight after beating Northport

The Beermen maintained their winning streak in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup after surviving Northport, 114-107, Wednesday at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Winners of three straight games, San Miguel kept solo 6th place with a 5-4 record and are closing in on a playoff spot.
"I know from the start this won't be an easy game," head coach Leo Austria said.
"Lumalaban sila hanggan sa huli [Northport]. Kita naman natin kanina," he added.
San Miguel led by a many as 19 points but nearly lost all of it as the Batang Pier made their rally in the fourth quarter.
Sean Anthony made it a one-point game, 107-108, with 1:46 to go but that proved to be the final basket for Northport as Christrian Standhardinger answered for San Miguel to restore a three-point advantage.
Standhardinger and Chris Ross then finished things off from the free throw line to seal the victory.
Import Kevin Murphy led the Beermen with 27 points while Standhardinger had another big outing, firing 21 points on top of 22 rebounds.
Alex Cabagnot was good for 17 points while Marcio Lassiter added 16. Ross finished with 14 points.
The Batang Pier got 24 points from Anthony and another 21 from Stanley Pringle but at 2-8, Northport has been eliminated from the Governors' Cup.
San Miguel 114 - Murphy 27, Standhardinger 21, Cabagnot 17, Lassiter 16, Ross 14, Santos 7, Nabong 7, De Ocampo 5, Rosser 0, Heruela 0.
Northport 107 - Anthony 24, Pringle 21, Grey 18, Woods 14, Elorde 6, Tautuaa 6, Espinas 4, Gabayni 4, Arana 3, Javelona 3, Guinto 2, Flores 2, Fortuna 0.
