PBA: Belo looks forward to crucial showdown vs. Phoenix
"Crucial, crucial game for us," Belo said on Blackwater's regular-season finale against Phoenix.

BINAN, Laguna --- Blackwater didn't exactly inspire in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

The Elite were awful in the mid-season joust, finishing in last place with a 1-10 record.

However, Blackwater has turned it around for the 2018 Governors' Cup, submitting a breakout performance that has them fighting for a twice-to-beat edge in the playoffs.

After a 120-99 demolition of Columbian Saturday at the Alonte Sports Arena here, the Elite reached seven wins for the first time in franchise history.

At 7-3, Blackwater has forged a three-way tie for third place with idle Alaska and Phoenix.

"Talagang pinagtrabahuhan namin na umabot kami sa seven wins," forward Mac Belo said.

"Kasi last time kulelat kami eh so kailangan talaga namin bumawi. Grabe yung sacrifice na ginawa namin at talagang pinagsikapan namin," he added.

The win against Columbian sets up Blackwater's regular-season finale against Phoenix.

"Crucial, crucial game for us," Belo said.

"Kailangan namin pagpatuloy yung pagiging aggressive namin, yung effort namin kailangan dagdagan pa namin to beat Phoenix. Malalaman na lang sa game," he added.
